I’m talking live events. Networking get-togethers. Trade shows. Places where you can actually speak to mentors, speakers, teachers, and influencers face-to-face.
Sounds kind of radical in a world that’s gone overwhelmingly online, doesn’t it?
But trust me: Making an In Real Life – “IRL” connection with a live person beats sending them 10 emails or giving them 20 Facebook likes & comments.
People need to connect with real people. And live events or live functions are STILL one of the best ways to make those genuine connections that stay with someone a lot longer than a text or a tweet.
If you know how to do it right, working the room is one of the best ways to make real connections.
But if the idea of walking into a conference hall, walking up to a stranger, and extending your hand sounds about as terrifying as rollerskating across a bridge at rush hour, then this week’s episode is for you!
