We all want to make more sales. And there’s one little trick I could mention that’ll help you do JUST that. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s probably staring you right in the face…but if you’re like most salespeople and entrepreneurs, you’re not doing it.
I’m talking about follow-up.
Sure, it might feel awkward. You might be thinking “Why would I talk to someone again who said NO the first time?” You might be thinking that you don’t have time for one more thing in your busy schedule. But here’s the truth: 80% of sales usually require up to FIVE follow-ups.
Yes, that’s asking for the sale FIVE times. Not once, not twice. FIVE times. When was the last time you asked someone more than twice? (If you said “I don’t know” or “never”, you wouldn’t be alone!)
If you use it correctly, follow-up is one of the simplest ways to close more deals. You can do it without feeling pushy, desperate, or salesy, too. Following up is about deepening relationships, building rapport, and trusting that the sale will happen at the right time.
